Your Station Needs You

At a recent Community Rail Partnership meeting it was agreed that most station partnership (Friends of Stations) groups are always looking for new volunteers to join them in looking after ‘their’ station.

If you think you would like to get involved with an existing group then have a look here communityraillancashire.co.uk/friends-of-stations/ to see if your local station is adopted. If you would like to join an existing group you can contact Simon Clarke on simon.clarke.crl@gmail.com or Caroline Holden on caroline.holden@communityraillancashire.co.uk  and they will put you in contact with the appropriate person.

If you think you might like to adopt your local station because there isn’t a group already in existence then you will need to contact Northern Railways, who manage station adoption, on adopters@northernrailway.co.uk. If you want to see if station adoption is for you then you find out more on northernrailway.co.uk/about-us/community/station-adoption or on communityrail.org.uk/member-resources/station-adoption-a-guide-for-the-local-community/ or you can read about what station adoption involves on the CRL website on this page communityraillancashire.co.uk/station-adoption/

Just over 30 local stations across the Community Rail Lancashire (CRL) area are adopted by Friends of Stations groups. There are still stations available to be adopted so if you think you can help then contact Northern via the links above.
