South Fylde Line CRP AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the South Fylde Line Community Rail Partnership was held on Wednesday 3rd May 2023 in Fylde Borough Council’s offices in St. Anne’s.

The meeting saw two guest speakers and the first, Julie Levy, Chair South East Lancashire CRP, gave an illustrated talk about the work of the SELCRP and especially the development of the Platform 5 Gallery at Bolton Station. The second speaker was Tim Dixon, Tourism and Cultural Services Manager Fylde Borough Council, who gave a wide-ranging talk covering many of the key marketing and promotional initiatives taking place in the Borough. Tim said that there were some 250 events taking place each year and highlighted some of the key ones including the Lytham Festival, the International Kite Festival, 1940’s event, Lytham Hall and the development of the art gallery. Tim emphasised the importance of partnership working and the role organisations such as the SFLCRP can play.

The business element of the AGM saw Tony Ford re-elected as Chair of the group and two Vice Chairs were appointed; Vince Settle with a focus on the Fylde area and Melanie Taylor with a focus on the Blackpool area. Richard Watts was re-elected as Secretary of the group.

Richard Watts proposed a vote of thanks for Tony for all his hard work which was thoroughly endorsed by all at the AGM. He also went on to thank all the station volunteers and put out a call for volunteers to distribute mini timetables and other SFL literature including the South Fylde Line Guide and the Self Guide Walk leaflets, which can be downloaded by clicking the appropriate link.
