Thursday 11th April 2024 saw the Annual General Meeting of the Joint Clitheroe Line & East Lancashire Community Rail Partnerships. The meeting was ‘live’ and took place in County Hall, Preston and was attended by representatives from across the railway industry, community rail and friends groups.
Mike Cliffe, Chair Joint CL&ELCRPs, welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced Craig Harrop, Regional Director Northern Railways who gave a presentation giving an overview of developments in Northern and covering in particular the Central & West Areas. Craig also took questions which included topics such as a passing loop on the Colne branch, the new Yorkshire Dales Explorer service and Blackburn as a ‘Station As A Place’. Next on the agenda was the screening of a new ‘Explore Lancashire by Rail’ film that has recently been made by Huckleberry Films and features a short walk around Burnley starting at Manchester Road station and taking in Thompson Park and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. The official business of the meeting then took place with Mike Cliffe (Chair) and Richard Watts (Secretary) being reelected nem con. The position of Vice Chair remains vacant.
