Cathrine Kingdom, one of Community Rail Lancashire’s Community Rail Education Officers, has been working closely over the last academic year with learners at Oastlers School in Bradford and Keighley to create some art work for Steeton and Silsden Station.
The learners were given the task of creating art work that showed the line from the city of Bradford out to the coast. Catherine took the group out on trips so that they had first-hand experience of the destinations that would feature in the art work.
The GCSE art learners then created the piece with support from their art teacher Julian. The art work was unveiled at Steeton and Silsden station on 26th June 2024. The group have also been recognised by the Bradford SkillsHouse Careers and Technical Education Team at their recent awards with a special recognition award.
