Community Rail Lancashire has commissioned Huckleberry Films, a local creative film company, to make some short films that will encourage people to explore Lancashire by Rail.

One of the latest films is a walk from Burscough Bridge station to Martin Mere Wetland Centre. The film follows the route taken via a permissive footpath alongside the railway line and across lovely countryside to reach the Wetland Centre without having to walk on a busy road.

Burscough Bridge station is on the Manchester/Stalybridge to Wigan & Southport Line and there are two trains an hour Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sundays. Burscough Junction station on the Preston to Ormskirk Line (hourly service Monday to Saturday) is a 25 minute walk from Burscough Bridge.
