On Friday 22nd June the Mayor and Mayoress of Hyndburn, Councillor Mohammad Ayub and Mrs Noreen Ayub, attended an event at Community Rail Lancashire in Accrington celebrating a successful project undertaken by volunteers from the Prince’s Trust working with Community Rail Lancashire.
Representatives from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services and the Prince’s Trust heard the Mayor praise the volunteers for their work. The volunteers created an outdoor learning area for use by the school children who visit Community Rail Lancashire’s Rail classroom situated below the station. After cutting a ribbon the Mayor and Mayoress were given tour of the education facility followed by refreshments.
Community Rail Lancashire’s Brian Haworth said “It was a pleasure to work with the Price’s Trust and the young volunteers and to see them work as a team to deliver a successful project.”
