A second group of students from Newfield School made the journey to Preston by rail with Community Rail Lancashire.
The students were being introduced to rail travel as part of CRL’s Railway Confidence Programme and had a great time traveling between Blackburn and Preston.
When everyone met at the station the students remembered from their classroom visit that they had to ‘buy’ the right kind of ticket for the journey that day.
They had a great time on the journey to Preston, spotting features out of the window. When they arrived, they discussed safety, and even tried out the tactile paving!
After designing their own safety signs, the group made our return journey back to Blackburn.
