Accrington Eco Station Hosts Celebratory Rail 200 Theatre Show
As part of the nationwide Rail 200 celebrations and Community Rail Week, Accrington Eco Station was proud to welcome the Gare Du Nord Theatre Group for a special performance of their acclaimed Rail 200 Theatre Show.
For one night only, the ‘bunker’ was transformed into a vibrant pop-up theatre space, as guests were treated to a witty, insightful, and educational journey through two centuries of railway history. The performance, funded by Avanti West Coast, brilliantly blended comedy, storytelling, and historical reflection to celebrate the impact of the railways on British society.
The Gare Du Nord Theatre Group captivated the audience with their dynamic performance style, engaging all generations in the fascinating evolution of the railways from their industrial beginnings to their place in our modern, sustainable future.
The theatre company is currently touring the show at venues across the country throughout 2025. If you get the opportunity to see it, it’s not to be missed! For more information, visit: http://garetheatre.com
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening and especially to the Gare Du Nord team for bringing railway history to life in such a creative way.
