Lancashire Community Rail Re-accredited

Community Rail Lancashire is pleased to announce that it has along with its four constituent community rail partnerships has been successful in being re-accredited by the Department for Transport.

The Community Rail Network administers the accreditation process on behalf of the Department for Transport. Accreditation is formal recognition that a community rail partnership (CRP) operates to a high standard and that its objectives and activities are supported by Government. Accreditation should provide assurance to others, including potential funders and partners, that the CRP operates to high standards of governance and financial propriety; adopts a collaborative local community approach; is worthy of trust by others; and is a suitable entity for receiving public funds.

Accreditation is at the discretion of the DfT and can be removed at any time should the CRP fail to follow the Community Rail Accreditation Guidance.  The DfT and Community Rail Network are not a party to any contracts entered into by the CRP who remain an independent organisation. As such neither organisation will underwrite any contractual liabilities incurred by CRP.

As an accredited CRP you gain access to the Community Rail Development Fund (CRDF) administered by Community Rail Network on behalf of the DfT Each grant requires a separate application to be made by the CRP which shall be judged on its own merits.
