Funding Success for The Autism Friendly Line

The East Lancashire Community Rail Partnership (ELCRP) and Community Rail Lancashire (CRL) have recently funded a series of ten films that walk potential rail passengers through each of the railway stations along the Blackburn – Manchester Victoria (via Todmorden) Line (The Autism Friendly Line).

The films will be hosted on YouTube and now with a grant from the Community Rail Network’s  Community Rail Development Fund we are now able to promote them along the line using posters and flyers. Despite the pandemic we are pleased to have been able to deliver some rail confidence days during 2021 and this funding will enable us to run six rail experience days specifically for autistic people and their families and friends.

The films have been made by local filmmakers Huckleberry Films and will be available from February 2022. Watch this space!

Network Rail have recently published an autism friendly guide to travelling by train, packed with useful ideas and contact details – you can download a copy here: Autism friendly guide to travelling by train
