Freelance Try The Train Facilitators Needed

Community Rail Lancashire is looking for some freelance facilitators to help with our Try The Train Programme.

Could you or someone you know help people overcome barriers to using the train?

Community Rail Lancashire is expanding its team of brilliant freelance facilitators — and we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for people to help deliver our Try The Train programme across East Lancashire, the Peak District, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.

Try The Train supports people aged 14+ to build confidence and independence when travelling by rail through interactive workshops and supported train journeys.

What’s Involved

+  Delivering workshops and supported train journeys between May and October 2026.
+  Working with community groups, disability groups, and people who face travel or confidence barriers
+  Helping people gain real independence and new skills

 What You’ll Get

+  £200 per day (10 days across 2 participant groups)
+  2 paid training days shadowing current facilitators
+  Group rail pass for Northern trains
+  Support from an experienced, friendly
