Taking advantage of the good weather on Saturday 22 March 2025 the Friends of St. Anne’s-on-the-Sea station installed the third and final compost bin part of a project funded by Community Rail Lancashire.

Chair of the Friends group and chair of the South Fylde Line CRP Tony Ford and Barrie finished the work on the Platform at the station ready for the compost from another bin to be transferred and made ready for the planting season ahead.

During the time that the volunteers were at the station it was really busy – lovely to see. People looking happy and off on their travels. One group were off to enjoy an ‘arresting’ time with a visit planned to the Police Museum in Lancaster, making the most of Northern’s services.
