Exploring Lancashire by Rail is a series of films commissioned by Community Rail Lancashire, created by local film creative Huckleberry Films, which are designed to encourage people to explore the areas around the train stations.
There are currently seven films which show how easy it is to have a great day out exploring the beautiful surrounding areas of the East Lancashire, South Fylde, West Lancashire and Clitheroe Line.
The latest film to join this series is the Darwen Tower walk, which takes in the fantastic views of the Spitfire Memorial, Sunnyhurst, Bold Venture Walk and Jubilee Tower. This three mile circular walk which begins at Darwen Railway Station takes in some of the most spectacular views across the area.
Alongside the film is a map of the route, encouraging people to get outside and explore Lancashire by rail for themselves.
Richard Watts, Chair of Community Rail Lancashire said:
“This fantastic series of films shows how beautiful the local areas surrounding our train lines are and how easily accessible they are to everyone via train.
This latest film, exploring Darwen, takes in some incredible views, starting from the train station all the way up to Jubilee Tower and back. It’s a great one for all the family.
“It has been great working with Huckleberry Films on this series and we can’t wait to see which station is featured next.”
