Eco Escapes In The Forest of Bowland

Travel Light, Shop Local & Stay Longer

Do you fancy a day out or a short break in the beautiful Forest of Bowland National Landscape?

Eco Escapes is new venture commissioned by Lancashire County Council and sees the Discover Bowland working with Community Rail Lancashire to promote sustainable days out and short breaks in the Forest of Bowland National Landscape.

Funded by grants from the Community Rail Network and the Department for Transport’s Community Rail Development Fund (CRDF) a number of itineraries have been created to encourage exploration of the Bowland area car free.

Access to the Forest of Bowland is very easy using the local train service between Manchester and Clitheroe and local bus services. To see details of the itineraries click on the links below:
