CRL Board Member Retires

Marjorie Birch, who has been on the Board of Community Rail Lancashire Ltd since its incorporation in February 2016, has this month retired from the post of Director.

Marjorie has also recently stood down from the Chair’s role for both Ribble Valley Rail, the local rail user group, and the Joint Clitheroe Line & East Lancashire CRPs.

Richard Watts, Chair CRL commented: “Marjorie has had a long association with community rail and her voluntary contribution to educational engagement has been an example to all. She was an exemplary Director challenging and questioning when she felt strongly about an issue but also recognising the strengths others bring to the Board. The Board passed a vote of thanks for all Marjorie’s endeavours and wished her a long and enjoyable retirement”.

The remaining directors would like to place on record their thanks for all Marjorie’s contributions both to the CRL Board and for all her work in her previous role as a volunteer helping with the education programme.
