Community Rail Lancashire gets a third place at the Community Rail Awards.
Brian Haworth & Janet Ennis were on hand in Torquay to collect the third place certificate in the ‘Involving Young People’ category for their Distance Between project tgat saw a class from Padiham Green Primary School visit Aachen in Germany and Heerlen in The Netherlands. The certificate was handed out in stage by Great Western Railways MD Mark Hopwood.
Also successful on the evening was the Leeds, Lancaster & Morecambe CRP in the Innovation in Community Rail category for the Bentham Station CCTV project, which received a joint third certificate. CRP Chair Gerald Townson and CRDO Simon Clarke accepted the certificate on stage.
The Citizens’ Rail project was also rewarded on the night in the ‘Outstanding Teamwork’ category and took the third place certificate.
