Consultation on Proposed Changes to Accrington’s Town Services (October 2024)

Lancashire County Council has recently stepped in to support local services in Hyndburn operated by Pilkingtonbus. The Council is now looking to revise the routes and timetables to increase service levels to generally hourly during the daytime, by filling in current gaps in the timetable and provide a Saturday service. Links to Accrington Railway Station are also improved. The following services will be withdrawn and replaced by new services:

Service 1 – Clayton-le-Moors-Accrington-Oswaldtwistle;

Service 2 – Dill Hall Circular;

Service 4/4B – Oswaldtwistle Merlin Drive Circular;

Service 5/8 – Dill Hall/Church/Spring Hill Circular;

Service 9 – Barnfield Circular;

Service 11 – Fern Gore Circular; and

School Services 867, 869 & 879.

This will also involve changes to Holmeswood Coaches operated service 15. There are no proposed changes to other services in Hyndburn.

Further details including proposed timetables and a map can be found on the Lancashire County Council website or Accrington Bus Station Information Office:
