On Monday 9th February, celebrations took place on Platform 1 at Clitheroe Station with the unveiling of new artwork.

It was created during an ‘All Aboard’ Railway Family Fun Day at Clitheroe Castle Museum, when families and young people created images to show what they liked about the area and the Ribble Valley line. The images were then used by local artist, Gosha Gibek, to create the artwork now adorning the station and called ‘Along the Line to Clitheroe Castle’.
Mike Cliffe, Chair of the Clitheroe Line Community Rail Partnership said, “I am delighted we are unveiling this vibrant colourful artwork today at Clitheroe Station. Created by families and young people it brings to life prominent features along the Ribble Valley Line and up to Clitheroe castle.”

Peter Eastham, Chair of Ribble Valley Rail, added “It is marvellous to see this wonderful artwork on display at the station. We hope this encourages more families to use the line and visit Clitheroe and its historic castle.”
Ian Davis, Community Rail Support Officer with the Community Rail Network said “It is great to see the community and schools working together with a local artist to create this great artwork and hopefully people will see it and be encouraged to visit the Castle Museum. The Community Rail Network were very happy to fund this project through the Community Rail Development Fund.”
