As part of Network Rail’s ‘volunteering in the community scheme’ a team of staff members from as far afield as Stockport & Liverpool lent a hand at Pleasington station on 11th November to assist with Community Rail Lancashire’s ‘All Together Now’ project.
The group working with CRDO Brian Haworth tackled the dense jungle behind the waiting shelter on the Blackburn bound platform. The work involved clearing the embankment for the next stage of the project which will see installations to encourage all sorts of wildlife to visit the area. Passengers will be able to observe the wildlife from the shelters which will form wildlife hides.
