Emma Brown, Deputy Head of St. Pauls’ CE Primary School, Oswaldtwistle shared this account of a trip for some of their pupils to London.
Some of our pupils and staff from St Paul’s CE Primary went on a train trip to London on Tuesday 18th June with CRLs Dave Savage as part of the Avanti West Coast ‘Feel Good Feel Trips’ project. We all had an amazing day and it was an experience our children have never had before.
We travelled from Accrington Station to London, then took the underground to Embankment, walking along the Thames to where we caught a cruise boat to the Tower of London. The children loved the river cruise and saw many of London’s famous landmarks.
We then travelled the underground to visit Buckingham Palace and had a little time to relax in St James Park. It was then time to enjoy pizzas and drinks before heading back on the train from Euston home.
The sun was shining all day and the children were captivated by the sights in London. All children were respectful and well mannered throughout the day and truly appreciated the experience.
Thank you to the Rotary Club and Avanti West Coast Trains and in particular CRL’s Dave Savage for organising this trip and supporting us during the day.
A great time was had by all!
