A Big Thank You To Arthur

Arthur has kindly lent his Thomas train to the Railway Exhibition currently on display in Clitheroe Castle’s Steward’s Gallery until June.

Arthur visiting the exhibition in Clitheroe Castle Museum for the first time

The photo shows a picture of Arthur viewing the exhibition for the first time with his grandfather, Brian last week, who has also lent a wide range of artefacts to the exhibition. Arthur is certainly starting young with his train collection and it’s wonderful that Arthur is able to loan one of his favourite toys for such a long time… mind you, he has a few more trains at home I’m sure to play with!

The exhibition is being held in the Steward’s Gallery at Clitheroe Castle Museum and presents On Track – A Glimpse into Lancashire’s Railways Past and Present and the exhibition will be running from now and until the end of June.

The exhibition includes toys, artefacts and photographs from Lancashire Museums and privately owned railway memorabilia from local railway historian Brian Haworth’s personal collection. Explore the joys of railways past and present in this new exhibition curated in partnership with Community Rail Lancashire (CRL). Discover more about Lancashire’s railways and East Lancashire’s community stations and learn about our county’s lost and lasting lines and how to start researching your railway ancestors.

Clitheroe Castle Museum is a short walk from Clitheroe station and the exhibition in the Stewards Gallery is open daily from 12:00 until 16:00 with free entry.
