On Saturday 9th March, Church & Oswaldtwistle Rotary Club arranged a litter pick along the Hyndburn Greenway between Accrington & Oswaldtwistle stations as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
The rotary club and Community Rail Lancashire have been working with St Andrew’s Primary school in Oswaldtwistle to look at ways to improve the footpath between the two stations. Following guided walks along the path with the Y5 classes it was noticed how much litter there was between the two stations.
On Saturday 9 members of the rotary club were joined by Community Rail Officer Dave Savage and his daughter Pippa to collect 40 bags of general litter and other discarded household items.
