Yorkshire Dales Explorer 31 August 2024

The Yorkshire Dales Explorer (YDE) on Saturday 31 August 2024 will have three guided walks led by volunteers from the Lancashire Rail Ramblers (LRR) and the Friends of the Settle Carlisle Line (FoSCL).

At Jubilee cave – John Barnes

Walk 1 is a Community Rail Ramble (LRR) moderate C walk of 11 miles – Alight and return Clitheroe.
Clitheroe – Coach to Slaidburn – Holmehead Bridge – Hammerton Hall – Reservoir Dam – Fisheries House – Eak Hill – Lamb Hill Farm – Cross of Greet Bridge – Catlow – New House – Hasgill Bridge – School Lane – Causeway – Hammerton Hall – Slaidburn – Coach to Clitheroe

Walk 2 is a Community Rail Ramble (LRR) easy E walk of 8.5 miles – Alight and return Clitheroe.
Clitheroe – Coach to Slaidburn – Tenter Hill – Myttons – Croasdale House – Harkers – Lane Side – Eak Hill – Fisheries House – Reservoir Dam – Hammerton Hall – Holmehead Bridge – Bell Sykes – Lower High Field – Slaidburn – Coach to Clitheroe.

Walk 3 is a Settle Circular (FoSCL) and is a moderately strenuous walk of 11 miles – alight and return Settle.
Journey through the hills above Settle to see local landmarks Nappa Cross and Jubilee Cave.
