The Leeds, Lancaster Morecambe CRP is the new ‘owner’ of the station buildings at Bentham station.
A new tri-partite lease was signed off just before Christmas. The lease is an agreement between Network Rail (the landlord), Northern Rail (the train operator) and the CRP (the occupier), meaning that the CRP is now the lease holder for the station buildings. The new lease means that the CRP can use the buiding for community activities such as visitis by local primary schools and also for the offices to be used by the members of the board of the partnership, the Community Rail Development Officer and the Friends of Bentham Station as a base.
