Peter Woods, a volunteer with Grow Kirkham & Wesham took some of the Year 6 pupils from Wesham C of E Primary School down to the Kirkham & Wesham station yesterday morning.
A bit of social history as we walked down Garstang Road South to the original Kirkham Station and showed where the rail crossing was and the goods yard.
Then up to Station Road for a view of the Railway Hotel, and across to the station and a chat in the foyer. Following this hey went down to Platform Three and an update on the volunteers work on the Nature Area.
Back to the foyer and a chat about the AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and how to use it, then it was back to school.
The class is also working on a new mural for the station, that will be displayed in the station foyer and is being supported by the Wesham Co-op Community Fund and Community Rail Lancashire.
