Volunteer Joins CRL For Two Weeks

Matthew Wignall, a student who has just finished his studies at Runshaw College has joined Community Rail Lancashire for two weeks on their ‘Get Involved’ programme.

Matthew started his two weeks on Monday 7th August in the Bunker at Accrington with a general introduction to community rail and the work of CRL. Later in the first week he is spending time with Northern learning about train presentation and the role of a conductor.

The rest of the time will be spent visiting recently completed projects at stations and shadowing CRL staff to meetings and to see ongoing projects. He will also visit ACoRP in Huddersfield to see the work they do in supporting the 50+ CRPs across the country.
