After a final handover meeting last Friday the brand new station at Burnley Manchester Road opened on Monday 17th November.. The new station has a booking office offering a full range of national rail tickets and information. There is a heated waiting area, brand new shelters and additional seating on the platforms. The station has also been the first in the area to benefit from Customer Information Screens.
The final piece of the jigsaw will be the introduction of the new service to Manchester via Todmorden which is due to start in May 2015.
