CRL Celebrates Shortlist Success

Yesterday saw the publication of the shortlist for the 2021 Community Rail Awards and Community Rail Lancashire along with Friends of Station volunteers are pleased to have been included in the list.

The shortlisted projects and the categories can be seen below:

Backtrack: Create it, share it, save lives (Community Rail Education Network) – Involving Children and Young People (sponsored by Grand Central)

Bonded Together with a Prayer Bead (Community Rail Lancashire) – Involving Diverse Groups (sponsored by London North Eastern Railway)

+  Along the Line (Community Rail Lancashire) – Community Creative Projects and Station Arts (sponsored by Transport for Greater Manchester)

From Waste materials to platform Christmas Trees (Friends of St. Annes Station) – Small Projects Award (under £500) (sponsored by Community Rail Lancashire)

+  100 Women 100 Journeys (Community Rail Lancashire) – Best Community Engagement Project (sponsored by Rock Rail)

Richard Watts, Chair of CRL said: “I am very pleased to see so many projects shortlisted as this reflects all the hard work work put in by the CRL team, the members of the four community rail partnerships and the many station volunteers across Lancashire during what has proved to be a very difficult year.”

CRL would also like to congratulate our two close neighbouring CRPs, the Leeds Morecambe CRP (The Bentham Line) and the South East Lancashire CRP (Bolton area) who have also had a number of projects shortlisted.
