The Rail Delivery Group (RDG) has just published its Modernisation Brochure which is titled ‘Our Customers, Our People – A Railway For The Digital Age’.
The purpose of the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) is to enable railway companies to succeed in transforming and delivering a successful railway. This ultimately benefits taxpayers and the economy.
RDG brings together all passenger and freight operators with Network Rail and HS2, providing services and support to groups of members to enable passenger and freight operators and Network Rail to succeed by delivering better services for their customers.
Their Modernisation Brochure is a vision for the future success of rail in the UK. Martin Griffiths, Chairman and Mark Carne, Deputy Chairman of the Rail Delivery Group say in the introduction:
“Our railway is more crucial than ever to the future of our nation. From passenger services to moving freight, it underpins our way of life and our economic prosperity. Rail journeys have doubled in the last 20 years and are expected to double again by 2040. This huge success poses many challenges that the industry must rise to.
Now, after decades of underinvestment, Britain’s railway is carrying out the biggest transformation since the Victorian era to ensure the railway and the trains can meet the demands of customers, communities and our country now and into the future”.
