Regular Events

Every Tuesday – Clitheroe Country Market, in the Church Hall on Moor Lane, Clitheroe BB7 1AZ, 09:30 – 12:00 – a country market with quality home baked, hand made and home grown produce. A wide selection of goods from a co-operative of local producers. Home made cakes, pies and jams also handicraft items such as cards, knits and textile gifts. Third Saturday of every month – Clitheroe Piano Meet Up, would you like to meet fellow players, share knowledge and develop your performance skills on a Bechstein grand? Saturday 17 August 2024 – Yorkshire Dales Explorer Guided Walks – two guided walks led by the Lancashire Rail Ramblers. Walk 1 is a moderate 10 miles, alight and return Ribblehead. Walk 2 is a moderately strenuous 8 miles, start and return Settle. Full details on YDE Walks Programme 2024

Wednesday 21 August 2024 – Wildlife Superheroes Day at Mere Sands Wood – use your super powers to defy the villains and complete your Wildlife Superhero training. Test your skills with our spiders web challenge, make your own superhero cape, create your own secret hideout, learn how to protect wildlife and more! Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August 2024 – The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival – the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival is back this summer with three incredible days of live music across the beautiful little town of Colne. Full details on bluesfestival.co.uk/

Saturday 24 August 2024 – Yorkshire Dales Explorer Guided Walks – three guided walks led by the Lancashire Rail Ramblers. Walk 1 is a strenuous 13.5 miles, alight and return Horton in Ribblesdale. Walk 2 is an easy 8 miles, alight Horton in Ribblesdale and return Settle. Walk 3 is an easy 5 miles, Alight and return Langwathby (change of trains). Full details on YDE Walks Programme 2024

Sunday 25 August 2024 – Burnley Canal Festival – visit the beautifully refurbished Finsley Gate Wharf and along the towpath nearby.  Enjoy lots of family-friendly and creative activities; relax listening to music; eat lots of lovely street food and maybe get on to the water too. Finsley Gate Wharf, Burnley, Lancashire, 11:00 to 17:00, close to Burnley Manchester Road station – this is a free event.  

Monday 26 August 2024 – Blackburn Cathedral’s Bank Holiday Celebrity Series – an organ recital by Martin Baker in aid of the Lantern Music Trust, supporting music at Blackburn Cathedral. 11:00 – 12:00, admission £10 on the door.
