Local school has made an artistic feature of the walking access off Burscough Bridge Station Platform One to Martin Mere – The route now can’t be missed!
Community Rail Lancashire (CRL) has been working with Ormskirk based community artist, Angie Thompson and all the pupils of Burscough Bridge Methodist Primary school to create a beautiful, nature inspired feature of the access off platform one to Martin Mere Wetland Trust – A lovely flat walk, which it is hoped will encourage more people to give the walk a go.
The artwork was unveiled on Wednesday, December 6th with the whole school visiting the station to view their creations. Afterwards it was back to the school, where the pupil’s had a display of their original artwork for the guests and families that joined them for the celebration.
Mrs Tyler, Head said “Burscough Bridge Methodist Primary School have some really talented children. It has been a real pleasure to be able to work with the local artist, Angie Thompson in creating a wonderful piece of work for the local train station, which will be enjoyed by all members of the community. It will not only enhance the station aesthetics, but will signpost the walk to Martin Mere. We believe it is important for everyone to get out and about and what better way than walking. Please take yourself down to the station and have a look at the amazing work that has been created. We are very proud of our children’s work.”
