Explore The Clitheroe Line

Community Rail Lancashire has developed a new line guide for the Clitheroe Line . The leaflet takes you along the journey from the city of Manchester to the market town of Clitheroe at the heart of the Ribble Valley. There is a hourly train service between Rochdale, Manchester and Clitheroe and a half hourly service between Rochdale, Manchester and Blackburn, Monday to Saturday. For details of Sunday services please check online at nationalrail.co.uk or on the Northern website at https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/  

The Yorkshire Dales Explorer is a new service that links Greater Manchester and Lancashire to the Settle Carlisle line and the wonderful Yorkshire Dales. It operates on Saturdays, as an extension of the Rochdale to Blackburn service with 2 trains a day going on to Ribblehead via Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley.

The Yorkshire Dales Explorer offers a series of guided walks each Saturday between May and September each year. Explore Lancashire by Rail

A series of films is being made for Community Rail Lancashire by a local creative film company Huckleberry Films which are designed to encourage people to Explore Lancashire by Rail. Two of the films cover the Clitheroe Line, the first is a walk around Turton/Entwistle & Wayoh Reservoirs and the second starts at Darwen station taking in the fantastic views of the Spitfire Memorial, Sunnyhurst, Bold Venture Park and Jubilee Tower.
